Build a Tree House in Toca Blocks

By Mårten Brüggemann, Play Designer, Toca Boca

block-icon-512A good treehouse is hard to build. It’s important to have a good plan! Testing out Toca Blocks, we’ve found that one fun way to create is building your own digital tree house!

Categories: Digital Play, Creative and Maker Play, Imaginative Play

Target age: 4 to 12

Skill level: Beginner

Materials: Stuff you probably have at home

Prep time: None: Be spontaneous!

What You’ll Need

  • a tablet or phone with Toca Blocks installed

The Activity

  • Build some trees

Combine some blocks with the green grass blocks and you’ll get a basis of nature-like building blocks to start off with: a stump, a beanstalk, etc.

  • Build some rooms and move in

Use the brick (red+yellow) as a combination base to create furniture.

  • Adapt as needed for the residents of the tree house

The three heroes of Toca Blocks all traverse the world in their own way — climbing, flying, etc. — so you might have to adapt your tree house for them to climb into them.

All in all, I hope you’ll have a good time planning out and building your own tree houses in Toca Blocks and get inspired to try some of the ideas out in real life — once the snow melts!
