On June 14, Toca Boca dares kids to explore a world of suspense and intrigue with their latest app, Toca Mystery House.
Discover an abandoned-looking house on an eerie, silent street, near a sidewalk filled with cracks and sprouting scraggly weeds. The rumors have been flying, and there’s only one way to find out what’s really inside: by being curious and bold. Each room offers its own adventures — and maybe even a whiff of the supernatural.
Toca Mystery House encourages curiosity, exploration and embracing the unknown and invites kids to:
- Experiment with simmering potions in the laboratory
- Compose musical melodies in the basement with a troll head
- Solve puzzles with strange new beings in the attic
- Play with a slimy mess in the kitchen
- Look behind every door to explore all the secrets of the house
For the first time, Toca Boca tapped fans to help co-create new characters in Toca Life: Pets. The brand received over 1,000 suggestions based on kids’ real and imaginary pets, and from those ideas Toca Boca produced 3 replicas in the new app. The pet rock and sloth bat featured in the app were inspired by drawing and photos from fans and transformed into real Toca Boca characters.
“Developing this app was an inspiring process, and we pushed ourselves outside of our comfort zone to create a new experience for fans,” said Andreas Polyviou, Art Director at Toca Boca. “Kids will be intrigued by Toca Mystery House, and we encourage them to be curious and bold when exploring all it has to offer.”
Toca Mystery House, designed for kids ages 6 through 9, will be released on the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore June 14.
