Welcome to Toca Life: City
It’s so nice to meet you! We know your kids love telling stories. Especially stories about their everyday life. So following on the success of our first storytelling app, Toca Town, we bring you Toca Life: a set of storytelling tools that will encompass kids’ everyday lives and springboard their imaginations. Each app will support kids as the director of their own stories, putting them in control. That’s why you’ll find few predefined animations and no scripted scenarios or rules, so that your kid — and no one else — decides what happens to the inhabitants of Toca Life.
Introducing Toca Life: City
Meet a completely new set of exclusive characters with four completely new scenes. All your characters can be accessed by tapping the sidewalk sign in the bottom right-hand corner. Characters, and anything they are holding, are also automatically transported between scenes via the sidewalk. Why not go shopping at the mall, grab a bite to eat at the food court and invite people to your very own loft apartment for the greatest party ever?
But the possibilities don’t stop there. We bring you the hair salon and the Hair Machine 3000! Take a seat in the salon chairs and watch as your character’s hair transforms into a myriad of magical hairstyles. You may also notice a few new outfits hanging around in the shopping mall. Don’t be shy — try out some new looks from the tailor. If you help out his business, he might be able to open a new store soon! And if you find everything is just too messy, just tap our reset button in the top right-hand corner and everything will be magically tidied. And be warned, all your characters’ hairstyles and clothing will reset to their default settings.
If you’d like to have a bit of peace and quiet while your kids are playing Toca Life: City, just go to settings at the top right corner on your start screen. If you tap this you can switch off the music in the app. This also gives you the option to turn off the icons on the start screen for what we call Toca News, as well as for the For Grown-Ups section, which you are reading now. So here’s a chance to let your kids be in the director’s chair, but if you want to join in, no problem! We’ve designed the app with this in mind. However, just a tip: Let kids direct and you’ll see the unlimited stories that build with their imaginations. With updates and more exciting additions to the Toca Life series coming this year, we hope you will find Toca Life a place that encourages the storyteller in everyone, and makes anything possible.
We hope you will enjoy your stay!
